"caramelldansen" is the first track of swedish group caramell's album supergott. [bubblegum dance]

this song has become very popular as an internet meme that began in 4chan. like most internet memes of this sort (such as the leek and the hamster dance), "caramelldansen" has a video made with the speedycake remix and flash animation with characters from japanese pc game popotan.

bubblegum pop is annoying to listen to for too long but is also generally extremely catchy; therefore, "caramelldansen" is much a favourite of mine, not to mention the fact that it is swedish. an english version of the song has been made, called "caramel dancing" or "caramelldancing". naturally, the content deviates some from the original lyrics, but the sound is much the same. both the original and remixed version are good, though after listening to the decidedly more upbeat remix, it is hard to slow back down for the original, which is good in itself. all videos are done with the speedycake remix.

mostly the lyrics are composed of people inviting others to join them and dance...

"daddy dj" is the debut single by daddy dj, consisting of david le roy and jean-christophe belval, based off paris, france. [dance/electro/pop]

if you listen to basshunter, you should recognize "daddy dj" right off from the start, from which "vi sitter i ventrilo och spelar dota" got its melody, in the main chorus of the song.

the song seems to feature - father and son? or is it really? either way, i'm not putting too much speculation to it at the moment.

listening to "daddy dj" and daddy dj's songs in general is faintly reminiscent of sarina paris and other past music i've listened to, perhaps tiësto, perhaps hixxy...dance songs. it's alluring and rather addicting, with just the slightest dash of daft punk. as a fan of basshunter, sarina paris, and a few songs by the aforementioned djs, it's hard not to like "daddy dj".

"it's your life" is the tenth track on the album my paper heart by christian artist francesca battistelli. [contemporary christian music]

francesca grew up in a family very involved with music and the stage, and loved it from the first. on her style of music, which is a blend of ccm, soul, and pop: "I really longed to bring something authentic to the [Christian music] scene that even non-Christians could listen to."

"it's your life" was used as the music backing for a compilation of shots put together into a video for the camp i just attended. it was shown on the last night as a video to give people an idea of some of the highlights of the camp and what we girls did. i liked the song and came back and looked it up and only now realized i probably could have found the name in the program instead of taking forever and a day to find the right song online.

in this song, i'd actually thought the singer was male...from listening to this, francesca doesn't have a very obviously feminine voice, but i haven't heard any of her other songs, so i can't say.

the meaning in the song is fairly clear and mentions choices in your life, to live life as you and to stand up for the things you believe in. however you act reflects what you believe, and the world will see that.

i like the song. i think i might incorporate it into "hell's angel" some way, as in perhaps a soundtrack for a chapter.

"i'm so sick" is a single by flyleaf and also the first track on the album flyleaf of all releases except for the dvd. [rock, alternative metal]

not sure why i couldn't come up with a proper explanation to the lyrics last time i tried. it's not that hard. they're/she's tired of the way things are. corrupted, wrong...the "you" seems to be sin in some form. this isn't a shallow song, per se - there's just not much to go into in depth. that was probably why i didn't use it.

flyleaf doesn't like to be labelled as a christian rock band...so they're just a band. it just so happens that they're all christians. lead singer is lacey mosley, who has an okay voice that is redeemed by the fact that she can scream when she has to.

it's a pretty good song. i looked it up a while after taylor and vasya first mentioned it, and now there are several flyleaf songs i'm pretty fond of. this is one of them.

"lose yourself" is the first song on the 8 mile soundtrack, also a single, by eminem. [rapcore]

now i get one part of a robot chicken episode where bugs bunny has to rap and chokes. from the movie "8 mile".

this is, despite the few swear words which i don't begrudge him, is very good, even the meaning. it also has a very negative sound. the beginning lines sound angry in an almost sarcastic way.

if a lot of eminem's songs are like this, i commend him. the rhyming and rhythm is amazing, how even reading the lyrics aloud does not bring out the full potential in this where eminem stresses different words and chops apart words to bring out the pattern and rhythm and beat.

it's quite catchy, and i like this one a good deal, despite the fact that it's rap. i don't hate all rap.

and just for the record, i really do believe it says "rhapsody" instead of "rap shit". that just don't sound right.

"i don't know" is a popular dance song by italian artist erika. [eurodance]

erika de bonis is an italian artist, whose bio was not easy to find. at all. and a correct version of her lyrics was - ugh. some people need their hearing checked.

her songs became very popular in some dance clubs. i was introduced to this song by dave, and i like the lyrics, provided what i hear are the right ones. took me ages to find ones that sounded right, too. stupid weird versions floating around on the web with syllables that don't even match. the lyrics are pretty applicable to anyone, i think, and i was told to look up the lyrics...they're very general, but very common.

this is the best version i've found. since erika is italian, her pronunciation is a bit off and "world" to me always sounds like "word", but if it is "word" and by it she means "love", then that works quite well for me. and, aside from having good lyrics, the bpm of this song is such that it makes for a brisk walk, very precisely, not too fast.

another song i like off this album. and i hope the contents of this song are something genuinely experienced by a band member, to make it all that more real and them all that more human, not just singing about something common but that they haven't experienced, because it does a good job of expressing extreme frustration over a girl who's just being a total tease.

i mean, "when will i win?" kinda probably means he wants to score and sleep with her, so morals, iffy, but still very real. a note to flirty girls. be nice. ha ha.

having been so enthralled with imeem for its consistent sound, i had forgotten for a while that youtube also has songs for linking to that imeem may not have full versions for. youtube, you're back in the business!

"sleepness nights (never let her go)" is the fifth track on faber drive's seven second surgery album and is also a released 2008 single. [pop rock]

marvellous song. number one, of several punk/pop/rock boy bands i've listened to, faber drive rawks. state of shock isn't bad, but that's not what this is about, now, is it? naw. (anyhow, simple plan is kinda whiny now. oddly enough, one or two songs by faber drive sound a little like simple plan, so much so that once i labelled a song as simple plan because it sounded so much like them.)

the song's content is very obvious. and i so want to make a music video for it. it's sad, a bit heart-wrenching, and makes well for mental imagery for stories. it's really about the parents. but i'm sure it could be tweaked. and the emotion's sort of the same, a bit. i've tried the "cornering" bit. didn't work. maybe i should attack my brother instead of my mom all the time. but whoa, i'm supposed to be in a good mood right now.

anyhow, definitely one of my favourites. love it. (ha ha, there's that word, love.) but seriously, sweet song. shoulda talked about it way earlier than now. not that seven posts is very much, for all my supposed addiction to music. ah yes, that's why i don't post. too busy listening. well, some, like this one, are actually meaningful, real-life songs, so.

actually, i think it has to be said that the overall sound of this song can be rather depressing. just to...put that out there.

the song seems to sound a bit like wishful thinking for vanessa, but that doesn't detract from the sound of the song itself, which i like a good deal (or else it wouldn't be up here). the majority of songs on this album are more preferable than past albums.

"hands on me" has a wistful sound to it and i think some people have hinted that "just put your hands on me" is a sexual reference, but i don't really agree with that.
